Hannah Jaumot - Embroidery and Textile Artist
Inspired by past trends and future explorations, I explore my ideas through illustration, embroidery, and textile manipulation. An anti-minimalist, my work is full of detail, color, and texture. My work explores scope and perspective, inspired by both far away galaxies and microscopic cells, and creates the new and unexpected out of ideas and compositions as old as time.
I am Hannah Jaumot, a textile and embroidery artist from Saint Augustine, Florida. Art has been my main motivation in life ever since I won first place in my school’s art competition in the first grade. A big daydreamer, I am constantly letting my mind wander and creating new worlds, creations, stories, and characters. Art has been the most important way for me to express these thoughts and make my daydreams a reality. From visual arts to theatre, the arts have always been my safe space. A former theatre kid, I l love the excessive and dramatic, finding escape through new worlds and the show-stopping. What began as a love for drawing cartoon characters evolved into a multidisciplinary practice including embroidery, illustration, and textile techniques. I received my BFA in Fibers with a minor in Drawing in 2023 from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
